Procurement Guidance Part 4: Informal Procurement Methods in School Nutrition Programs

Welcome to the California Department of Education (CDE) Nutrition Services Division (NSD) Procurement Guidance Part 4: Informal Procurement Methods for School Nutrition Programs (SNP) (course number 679).

Viewers will learn about the two informal procurement methods—the micropurchase method and small purchase method. Participants will understand when each method is appropriate, the thresholds for each method, applicable state laws they may need to follow, and how to properly procure goods and services using these methods. This online course was revised in May 2019 to reflect updates made to California Public Contract Code Section 20111 and Title 2, Code of Federal Regulations, Section 200.320(c), and federal regulations and guidance.

This online course takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. Please allow enough time to complete the online course in one sitting. At the end of the online course, you will be asked to complete a short evaluation. You will then have access to a printable online course certificate of completion for your records. Completion of this online course is not recorded until you select Submit on the final screen.
