English Learner Roadmap Example Survey

English Learner Support Division

The purpose of this survey is to allow local educational agencies (LEAs) and other educational agencies to submit suggested illustrative case examples that demonstrate the principles and elements of the California English Learner Roadmap: Strengthening Comprehensive Educational Policies, Programs, and Practices for English Learners (CA EL Roadmap) in action and are replicable and inspiring to others in the field.
Prior to submitting an example, please review the "Characteristics of Examples" and the "Illustrative Case Examples" tabs on the California Department of Education (CDE) English Learner (EL) Roadmap Web page at https://www.cde.ca.gov/sp/el/rm/ to become familiar with the criteria for examples and to view models of examples that meet the stated criteria. Please also use the Self Reflection Rubric, posted under the "Resources" tab to reflect on practices and determine if they demonstrate the CA EL Roadmap principles and elements in action. Examples submitted to the CDE will be reviewed by the EL Roadmap Review Committee. Examples that meet the criteria stated on the "Characteristics of Examples" tab on the CDE EL Roadmap Web page will be uploaded to the CDE EL Roadmap Web page and become part of the CA EL Roadmap. The CDE or other organization may contact the identified person if further information is needed.
When responding, please avoid inclusion of personally identifiable information (PII) about students, teachers, staff, or others in your school community. Such information may be protected from disclosure under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Student Online Personal Information Protection Act (SOPIPA), the Information Practices Act, and other data privacy laws.
